This is a cherry burl HF that I hollowed out with the pith in the center. As you can see from the pictures there were a lot of cracks in the wood before I started turning it. Once I had turned the outside, I used shrink wrap to keep it from blowing apart. The bottom third is thicker than I would have liked, but I wanted to make sure it didn't blowup. I finished it last month dipped it and then let it dry for several weeks. I had shoulder surgery on the 6th, so last night I taught my wife how to Beall buff. I think she did a good job getting it buffed out. It is 7 1/4"W X 8 1/2"T. C&C welcomed.
Thanks for looking,
Steve

Very, very nice. Someday I hope to be able to turn something so delicate. Still blowing up scraps but that's what experience is all about, right?

might have been a good canidate for incorporating some resin to highlight all the cracks

Allen, hadn't thought about resin. But that means I'd have to buy a new toy:D I can hear the vortex starting to suck. And believe me, it's not the polar vortex.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Rustic was an adjective that I hadn't thought of.
