I'm new to sketchup and I've been using it for a month or 2. How do you install cutlist 4.1? I've look online and still can't figure how to do it. Not the greatest with computer software.

Did you see this page on the web, it looks really easy. http://code.google.com/p/cutlist/wiki/Installation

What operating system (32 or 64 bit) are you using and what version?

Download the zipped file and extract it to the Google\Sketchup#\Plugin folder where # is the version you have of Sketchup

It may depend on what version of Sketchup you are using

I use version 8, and here is what I have to do to install an extension:

"Window" menu along the top
Go down to "Extensions"
Click on "Install Extension"
Browse to the location of the the .rbz file that you downloaded and select it
The plugin then should show up under the Plugin menu next to "Window"

Do the extension/the cut list work with the free version or just the pro?

Yes. The plugin works with the free version.

For those folks who are staying up with the times and have SketchUp 2013, install the plugin via the Extension Warehouse. Open it from the Window menu, sign in if needed, and enter cutlist into the search box. You can then autoinstall the plugin.

Bill, the file, while technically a zipped file, has the extension .rbz which allows it to be installed with Install Extension as John mentioned or via the Extension Warehouse.
