Delta Super Chuck

Have seen postings about DELTA SUPER CHUCK. I assume they may be vintage. Does anyone know about this chuck?

Oh that's a classic, and a danger! Well, if you are learning to turn like I was when I had one. They worked in a recess only. They used a tapered plug, against a taper on the inside diameter of the jaws, to expand the jaws into the recess. You had to use an included wing cutter to bore the recess because the jaws didn't have much expansion. There were two sets of jaws, two wing cutters that came with it. What happened, or did happen to me a couple of times, is that when you got a catch, it just kept screwing the tapered plug into the jaws. If you didn't have enough wood around the recess, WHAM! You blew off the rim around the recess. These came out before scroll chucks were on the market. Imagine that! Now when I started turning, we didn't have those new fangled...........................
