Any western Kentucky neanderthals out there?

One of the most common bits of advice I hear when it comes to picking out tools is to try as many as you can and decide which one you like best. Well, that's fine and well for those who live near a good woodworking retailer or in a large city where odds are higher that there are other woodworkers around with similar interests. I have neither luxury in western Kentucky. So, are there any fellow neanderthals out there in my area? I'd love to have someone to bounce ideas off of, test drive tools with, etc.
