I have just finished building an outfeed table/workbench and would like to position it as close to the back side of my Jet table saw as possible. Any trick to removing the rod that supports the rear of the factory splitter? The owner's manual is no help here. I am converting to a ZCI with an MJ Splitter and won't be using the Jet splitter any longer. Thanks!

AFAIK it's threaded, so you should be able to put a wrench on the rod and back it out.

Not exactly sure what Jet saw you have. I have the CTAS and I just drilled a hole in my extension table for the rod. Picture would help.

It's a JTAS 10XL. I can post a pic later if that would help.

Good deal. I was going to get a picture yesterday, bu didn't get to the shop. I used the MJ splitters for a good while, but eventually wore them out as the splitter kept coming out. I now have a steel splitter attached to the original mounting and use an overarm guard. I will take a couple of pictures today.
