A buddy of mine gave me this No. 4 probably 25 years ago. It was his dad's, who would have been in his 90's now. I'm wondering how old it might be.

Still has the original iron and it's been my go-to smoother ever since I got it.

I have a no. 5 Footprint that I bought off a friend that I think was made in the 70s (Well that was Archies guess when I bought it from him). Its actually a really good plane, although I never use it anymore for some reason. Yours is the only other "good" footprint I've ever seen. Anyway, I don't know anything about them, but I do know that I have one of similar vintage that is as good or better most of the vintage Bailey style planes.

Don't know about the planes, but back in the 70s, their chisels were considered quite good. Decline in quality since then, apparently.

No idea how old they are but they have since gone under.

I have a 20ppi dovetail saw which is ok-ish.
