Just curious if anyone has ever tried color filling using a Lacquer Stik. I was talking to a guy yesterday that subs out his products for engraving and uses a black lacquer stik with good results.

We sell them and I've used them a few times. They work pretty well on smaller areas, like letters. Just rub back and forth a bunch of times quickly and it will soften up.

Mike,

I have used it on turned pieces that I engraved with a dental drill. I covered the wood first with tape, then engraved it, then applied the stik. Worked fine. I have also done it by rough turning the piece, engraving it, then applying the stick and finish turning and sanding it. Not sure if one method was any better than the other.

I have not tried it on a laser engraved item.

I do also use colored wax sticks for filling. Gold especially. And I also use powdered metals for infill. So far all done with dental drill engravings rather than laser engravings. For what that is worth.
