I used a lot of odds and ends of wood from my scrap pile. Laminated rockers, backrest, legs. I had a quart of post cat satin left over, enough for 2 coats. Cherry, walnut , oak, maple .

Bryan, for something made from the scrap heap that is really neat. Very nice.

The chair is going to a member of our woodworkers coffee night meetings. He has always wanted one of my Texas porch rockers I occasionally build. I said I would build it if I got some help from members with donations of shorts, etc. from their scrap bin. One member donated a 6 ft length of 4/4 walnut, 8/4 cherry, 4/4 maple, enough to make the legs, & dowels. From off cuts I had I made the armrests, rockers, curved backrest. I donated 6 ft of 4/4 walnut to make the seat and back slats so the chair would look good. I call it a Frankenrocker, from the use of several wood species.:)
