Transtint in shellac

I am ready to finish a cypress farm table. I sprayed with aerosol shellac as a seal coat first. I then diluted Zinsser shellac 50/50 with DNA and added a few drops of Transtint black and an equal amount of Transtint dark mahogany brown. My test on the underside of the table has a slight purple hue. In my previous test strip the Transtint black had a slight blue hue.
Any experience here or other suggestions are welcome.
