My post on a stack of shims to help prevent vise racking:

will have this appended to the end.

These have held up fairly well though if they hang over the end of the bench they sometimes get snagged by me walking past.

The 1/8" shim is a little bit weak for taking all the force of all the other shims and getting snagged.

So here it is getting a repair with a bit of epoxy. My father taught me the trick of putting some tape on the glue to make it smooth. A co-worker taught me to save the extra to see how it sets up.

Maybe if this becomes a regular problem I can redesign all the shims to have a dog leg to strengthen them like the 1" has. Either that or make a thicker area on the 1/8" shim and have bigger holes in the others for clearance.

This is beyond me. I may have made a mistake of trying to upload all the images during a previous post and then including them here. They open for me when I click on the attachment line.

If anyone has problems let me know and I will try and include them in a reply. They do show as attachments in my mallet post.
