My son asked me to make a dresser for my grandaughter. Here is the finished dresser and who it for.

Now I guess I'll spend the rest of the weekend cleaning the shop.

That is a very nice dresser for your beautiful granddaughter Don, great way to start her off…
Gives her something to remember her granddad by in the years to come. :)

Don, great looking dresser. You also have a great looking granddaughter. She remember grandpa for a long time to come. I am finishing a rocking horse for my grandson and will post pictures when finished.

Don, very nice! You have a very beautiful granddaughter. I'm sure she's going to want some more parts and pieces to match in the future. Although she looks like quite a patient little girl. So you may have some time to get to it. Now how about some details on the finish.

The dresser is made of Red Oak. I used two coats of BLO sanded between coats. I followed it with 4 coats of Minwax Clear satin Finish. Again I finised sanded with 400 grit between coats. Last I rubbed out the finsh with 0000 steelwool and put a top coat of gardsmen polish.

My son has informed me that I need to finish making the rest of my grandaughters bedroom set so I guess I'll have a few more pieces to do.

Very nice work grandpa. Can't tell for sure from the pics, but she seems to be saying "I want a doll house THIS big..."
