DeWalt 734 Planer Feed Rollers Jammed

In the process of planing, the wood stops moving half way thru the cut. I raised the machine to find both fed rollers are extremely tight.

Light dis-assembly found a single broken gear for the feed roller chain. The machine is well out of warrantly, but I still didnt want to take apart the feed roller gear box without a little more certainty.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Mine did the same thing and it's a common failure mode. Fortunately the gears are relatively inexpensive and readily available online. Get a few extra gears for the future. If I recall correctly, mine had 4 and all were the same P/N. I replaced two while I was at it. Ran many hours after that without problems.
