I have not seen a piece of wood quite like this, it gives the illusion that the surface is dimpled completely back and front, and you have to actually run your fingers over it to be sure.
Unfortunately in the photos it looks as if they are bumps, after taking 50 odd photos from every angle these are about the best l could achieve. A special thanks to Lionel Bedard who gave us the wood while we were demonstrating in Canada. Michael.

beautiful wood Michael, like your bowl, what is amazing to me is that the "dimples" are consistent thru out the form, well done, i think that one goes on the shelf

Striking piece of quilted maple, I presume. I have heard this extreme figure referred to as "blister maple", as well. Beautiful!!!

Yes John forgot to add the name of the wood, had not heard the name Blister Maple until very recentanty l think it fits it well.

Really nice piece of wood for sure. This is one wood/grain that seems to relish a deep rubbed lacquer finish to really look "deep".

Love it!. Did you use the Beall system for buffing?

Charlie, you keep bumping!
