for those of you who have changed the headstock bearings in their 3520b do you recall the bearing size and or part number from the place you bought them?? and did you upgrade to something other than o.e.m?? i know i can get replacements from powermatic but don't want to pay their price and am hoping for a better bearing. hope I'm not grasping at straws.

Try here http://www.vxb.com/mm5/merchant.mvc? They will be happy to recommend the correct bearings. Myself and others have replaced our bearing with their products. If you have already checked Powermatic's prices prepare to be pleasantly surprised!

Not real tough to do. I used my camera to take pictures as I went along. Laid the parts out just as I removed them ( made sure they were facing the correct way ). DID NOT FORCE ANYTHING !
Followed the directions from the manual for changing the belt. This gets the spindle out and you are half way there.
Be sure to get sealed bearings.
pm me if you like.

Dwight - I just replaced bearings on an old Unisaw and many recommended Accurate Bearing Company.

What Dwight said. Same place I get any bearing I need, from my lawnmower deck to my Rikon bandsaw. There should be some numbers on the side of the old bearings, be sure to match them as close as possible. There may be some differences in the last few characters of the number of the old bearing versus what you find, usually to do with the seal style.

I have one of these locally and can get a lot of stuff through them. It helped that I have an old friend who works there. He called an engineer to get suggestions. Also got replacement bearings for my old Sioux angle drills.

we have one of those here in two as well robo.
i found some online from accurate bearing. way cheap.
took the spindle out and found only that only the bearing by the hand wheel was bad but ordered all three so will have spares in case the two front bearings go bad. not that big a deal to replace really. thanks to all those who offered words of wisdom.
