Suggestion I live in the United Kingdom. I use the following method to attach climbing roses to trellises

I take a piece of electrical cable see picture right, strip off the insulation and use the wire copper core as plant ties

Being copper the tie will last indefinitely and is pleasing to the eye

Bonsai enthusiasts use copper wire for training their plants. There is also a less expensive form using anodized aluminum wire. It isn't as good and tends to not be as reusable as copper wire.

Your cable image will look strange to Americans. Our three wire cable uses black and white +ground instead of blue and brown +ground.

I gotten Brown, Blue, green wires in some computer power cords.

The American way.
