Had a blank from a maple tree I cut in my backyard and thought I would try a little different form for me. Maple and walnut with plenty of curl, ambrosia, and a bark incursion. Just a coat of oil on it so far.

A dramatic form and fantastic wood, I like the way you shaped and fitted the collar.

pretty, very nice, like your setup with your lathe but where are the curlies, way too clean

Thanks Dennis. I was petty happy with the collar on this one. Charlie I just got a new 20 gal shop vac so that is why it is so clean!

Let me know if you have any "extra" wood the second or third week of September.
We will be vacationing in Butler around that time.:)
Soon I hope to finish turning that piece of chestnut you sent last year. (Yes, I will post pictures)
