I've made my decision on a lift and router for my shop made router table after reviewing forum readers comments- thanks.

I have decided to not take the time to make my own fence. I also don't think I want to spend the money for multiple, fancy & costly micro adjusting devices. I just want a solid high quality fence for basic operations. I am very comfortable with the quality of items I have purchased from Woodpeckers and their "Super Fence" looks like a solid, simple system. I would appreciate hearing from those that have used this fence for a while regarding any shortcomings or kudos. I am open to suggestions for alternatives as well.

I like the Woodpecker products a lot myself and I am sure that their fence is as good as the other products.

With that said I would say take a look at the Jessem Mast-R-Fence II, it does cost a little more but it is a really great fence.
When I was looking for a router table and fence the one thing that I really like about the Jessem was the way it mounted. It mounts on the ends of the table and does not use T-tracks in the middle of the table.

You can get some great stops and feather boards for it, the new Clear-Cut Stock Guides are just awesome. I also have the Mite-R-Slide which is just a really great addition to the fence.

Now if you want a micro adjuster for the fence here is the one I made, it is a micro adjuster and a fence stop all in one.

Take a look at the Veritas fence from Lee Valley. http://www.leevalley.com/us/wood/page.aspx?p=41794&cat=1,43053,43885 Versatile, solid, lots of accessories and the unmatched Lee Valley service.

I have their table, fence and lift. Like them all and would buy all again.

I'm a big fan of having dust control at the fence which would be part of the deciding factor for me. Something to consider.

I started out with a self-built "Norm" designed fence and it worked really well.

I've since upgraded to an Incra fence which has it all.

It looks like your in the $200 to $230 range... I would take a look at the Incra Standa Alone 37" Wonder Fence

http://www.incrementaltools.com/Stand_Alone_37_Wonder_Fence_p/wonderfence37.htm

Currently on sale for $249 and if you use the 10% coupon code for this week (HDAY1) it drops the price down to $224

I have the the "LS Super System" and I am very pleased with it - (basically it adds the Positioner and a couple of accessories)

I had an Incra Positioner with the Wonder Fence. When I made a ton of DT's for our kitchen I used a DT jig and not the Incra so I sold it and built a new router table with the Super Fence. I like it a lot. I did add the micro positioner since I was used to highly accurate fence positioning. I like not having the bulk behind the fence. I also bought some of those Jessem roller hold downs and they fit the fence fine. Dust collection is also very efficient.

I also like woodpeckers store. I use the Jessem Mast-R-Lift II with the pro bench dog router table with CI top and fence with the extension. I also use the Jessem clear cut stock guides. This is a great system and I'm glad I dropped the buttload of cash on it. Dust collection is really good too.

This is the router table and fence I built a few years ago (with a PRL lift).
It has been a work horse in my shop. I do like everything about it but if I was going to do it again I'd make sure the fence is like a shaper: the infeed and outfeed should be adjustable independently in and out. Tired of shimming the outfeed for different moulding profiles...

I have the older version of the fence in question, and I would have trouble recommending it for someone looking for solid, basic operation. I like Woodpecker's stuff, and there's no question that the fence is high quality from a materials and manufacturing standpoint. However, I've been a little disappointed with this item specifically because of the design being overly fussy and having too many independent parts (and mine has fewer than the new ones!). In particular, I feel like I'm forever re-tightening and adjusting the 90° brackets that connect the supertrack pieces together. The dust collection does work great, but I think any of the fences on the market would fit that bill.

If I were to buy another fence, I think I would look at the Kreg, one of the Jessem's, or maybe the Woodpecker RF3 (which apparently you can only buy through Woodcraft).

I have the Super Fence and I am very happy with it. Keep in mind though, that the fence mounts and moves on two slots on the table top. Woodpecker's top comes with aluminum slots built in, but not every top is compatible.

My router table top is 43" wide. It looks like the Jessem Mast-R-Fence II would not work.
