Eric

I have a SCM 520 with a Tersa head and I was wondering if I could mix carbide and M42 on the head, but not in an alternating manner. I would like to put carbide on the first 6" or so and M42 on the other end if I could.

I came up with a load of white oak T&G from the job I just finished but unfortunately it is finished with Sikkens on one side and has reliefs in the back. It is enough to do all the drawers in my new house if I plane carefully. I would like to take a light pass finished face up with the carbide and finish passes on the M42. I don't have the money at this time to buy full carbides.

Can this be done on a Tersa head?

Thanks, Larry

Larry: Sure, give it a shot. Fairy common practice on big Tersa jointers.
