This is a platter that I was asked to make for one of my BILs for his wife for Christmas. It is 14 3/4" x 1 3/4". This is the largest diameter pieces that I have turned to date. As you can see, it doesn't fit my photo setup very well. C & C welcomed.
Merry Christmas to All

Very nice Steve , I have a number of claro slabs ( 2 x 22in x 6 feet ) in my wood locker and will be looking at them differently from now on for sure ! It will be their center piece I betcha, for a time to come !!

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. The platter was a big hit with all of my wife's family. My SIL loved the platter and as was stated by Paul is now the center piece on their table. It's always good to be able to make brownie points when you are the "outlaw" in the family.:D
John--the finish I use is very simple. I dipped it a couple of times in a blend of BLO, Danish oil, and Minwax wipe on poly, let it dry and then Beall buffed it. I have been very pleased with this process and it is my primary means of finishing all of my bowls, platters and HF.

This is an absolutely wonderfully exquisitely made platter! You've outdone yourself.
