Fluorescent Acrylic

When looking at different acrylic, I've come across some that says it fluorescent. I want to start messing around with edge lighting acrylic with LED's and I was wondering if the fluorescent stuff would be better than the regular colored acrylic. Anyone have any experience in this area?

It is designed to fluoresce under UV lights Walt, a bit like "DayGlo" paint or Safety Jackets road workers wear.

Acid Green looks good if edge lit :)

I've tried it and IMHO it doesn't work very well. This is the red fluorescent.

It doesnt fluoresce under uv that well, the edges and the engraving sort of glow in normal light .
I use it extensively for awards and trophies
check my website under acrylics (not an advert for me - just to see what can be done with them...they have a very nice pale blue and glass green in the range - called Lisadye here in south africa)

It seems in my experience, only the edges are actually fluorescent. It is hard to explain but the best thing to do is prob. just buy a sheet or two and start experimenting. The stuff is dirt cheap.
