My granddaughter's boyfriend is getting his BA in Chemistry tomorrow. He wants to be a pharmacist, but who knows if he'll find a school. Figured it might be my only chance, so I took a shot. Not much, but here it is:

Beetle pine, WTF, waxed & buffed. The lettering is a clear label tape. I tried hand lettering it, but it was too ugly.

Great gift. I'm sure he will appreciate it, and the storage/gift box that matches tops it off.

This is great, Doug. May I ask how you carved the feet? The contour and finish look flawless.

All Harbor Freight, David. I picked up some rotary rasps and mounted one in a die grinder, then finished off with a 1" sanding disk in another die grinder. After that it was all hand sanding, then buffing pads in another die grinder. Far from perfect.
