No connection to this other than I think it is cool.

USB charge for phone, etc. from dewalt 18v battery. What a good idea! We all have a ton of these batteries around. We can put em to use in a pinch, or on a jobsite.

Kickstarter project is underway, and ending soon. This is a gadget that should survive!

For a few bucks, you'll get a device and cable that'll charge your phone or light off an 18 v dewalt battery.

Looks clean and well done. I want one!

if we don't support it. It might die!

That looks a lot like the M12, Milwaukee one for USB.

I use an Anker backup battery. Charges the phone 4 times.

Or, if you have the 20v max units, you can buy this: http://dewalt.com/tools/cordless-batteries-dcb090.aspx

Dollar Tree sells a USB port that goes into lighter (power port) on a car, so it shouldn't be hard to adapt to tool batteries. Just for the cheap like myself.

I can't imagine how often i would be in a situation where I'm not near a live outlet, carrying a drill battery, not near my car, and can put my phone down while its plugged into that thing. Cool gadget, but it seems like you'd have to have the Perfect Storm before it was actually useful.

The Milwaukee power port is a bit more useful. You can put a battery in it and put it in your back pocket for those times when you need to be mobile and charge your phone . It will also accept a standard car lighter type of plug.

Of course it only applies to those who use Milwaukee tools.
