Some time ago I inherited a Rockwell-Invicta model RC-33 thickness planer from my grandfather. Great, solid machine but the head creeps up during the cut despite me having securely tightened down the lock knobs. Any suggestions?

I would look at whether the knives are sharp and whether you're taking a cut that's too heavy for the planer. The bulk and weight of the cutter head and motor ( gotta be at least 200 lbs) on that planer shouldn't be able to be shoved around without an undue amount of upward pressure.

David P did you ever resolve this? I am having the same issue. I am thinking that it is a knife sharpness issue too but would be interested in your experience

Good luck getting a reply from David. He made that single post nine years ago and has been' persona non grata 'ever since.
