Any electrical geniuses care to lend me an ear for a second?:o

New replacement part from Grizzly is 215.98 (total with shipping) for item P0605X1081
It is item number 75 on this diagram http://www.grizzly.com/products/g0605x/parts

And it looks like this>

I would like to replace it with this one off of Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Starter-Control-electric-compressor/dp/B004TGTU0W/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386702677&sr=8-2&keywords=5hp+220+contactor

Which from amazon is only about $80

Any one see a problem with this?
Or have a different option?

Thanks a million........:D

Why are you replacing the original one? Did it fail?
There are those that say the IEC type motor starters are not as reliable as the NEMA type with specific heaters. All I can say is our commercial machines all run off NEMA starters and haven't hiccupped in 18 years that we've owned and run them (3/4HP up 7.5HP - mostly 3 phase).

Aaron note the Amazon ad specs differ from the specs noted in the picture so which is correct who knows. The ad specs are right in line with the Grizzly specs I think you are good to go with the Amazon starter if you go by the ad specs. The specs in the picture are still within the Grizzly range just not as close. For example the thermal overload range is 28 amps to 40 amps vs Grizzly 22 amps to 34 amps. The Grizzly switch is actually rated to 10HP by the manufacturer so there's plenty of wiggle room for the 5HP saw.

Yes the starter on my 4yr old saw failed. Nema huh?
I'm on my phone right now, when I get home tonight I'll check into it more.
