Looking for a source for steel screws like hinge screws. In particular #6, oval or flat head, but in different finishes, nickel, antique brass, black, brass etc.. I recall that there was a good source for these years ago when I did cabinetry. We would toss the brass screws and use steel replacements. Lee valley is good but they don't have oval heads like this. Thanks!

I too have been on a quest with only occasional success and limited finishes. I will be watching this thread with anticipation ;-)

My local ACE has a few in the slide-out boxes, Midwest Fasteners IIRC. Dark bronze, oval head 1/2" and 3/4" in #4, 6 and 8.

McFeelys has steel flat heads of several different colors. http://www.mcfeelys.com/ No oval heads, IIRC.

Hafele is always a good source - Look at other pages in the catalog for a greater selection - but these seem to fit some of the OP's criteria

Blacksmithbolt.com has a somewhat irregular selection. But if they have what you need, the quality is very high.

Lee Valley has a selection that may work for you.
