I've finally gotten to the point that I have some dry blanks to choose from.....Here's my latest from the "wood pile". :)

Manitoba Maple (Box Elder to some :) ), 13" diameter and 4" tall. Finished with food safe oil and wax blend.

Nice salad bowl you got there Rob! That " maple " has some nice chattanoiance for sure .

Maple looks great with the finish. Great job on the bowl. It turned out nicely.

I just love the look of Box Elder, which I now know is also Manitoba Maple. Beautiful.

I'll admit, I'm pretty happy with it....Our turning club was fortunate to get the trunk of this tree form our local tree service guy, that was taking this tree down out of a yard....There was so much beautiful wood, that most members of our club took numerous blanks. This is the first piece I've finished out of what I got.
