My husband passed away and I have all his antique/vintage tools that belonged to his grandfather from Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada. I can't seem to identify the manufacturer of this scrub plane. The plane base has 1928/3 on it and the cutter says "Pyramid Brand Germany" with the letters "F.Z." in a triangle. Could "Pyramid Brand" be the manufacturer? And could the plane date back to 1928? Anyone out there know anything about German scrub planes?275943275944275945275947275948275949275950

On a lot of utility planes like scrub planes, the only manufacturer name will be on the cutting iron. I don't know if the number you found on the body is a date, but it certainly could be. Stanley's version of the scrub plane - very similar to the one your husband owned - was first made in 1896.

The fact that it says "Pyramid Brand" implies that it was made for export to English-speaking countries.

Beyond that, I can't offer much. I sent you a private message with some other thoughts.
