Was fortunate enough to get some material from a local countertop company. Had a slow week at work so spent some time in the shop working on these.
Made one and the Wife liked it so she decided i needed to make five more so she could give them to the girls that she works with for Christmas.
Wasn't to bad turning once i got use to it you definitely need to let the tools do the work, and not get to aggressive.
Sanded to 12000 grit micro mesh no finish applied.

Good idea and they look good. I've turned a little of it but would like to scrounge up some more scraps.

What type of glue did you use to laminate?

Mike.
What are the approximate dimensions? I've turned scraps from our local cabinet shop, and all of the pieces were 1/2" thick. It appears that a few of your pieces are turned from thicker pieces (or very well laminated).

Mike, would you care to write a small tutorial on how you did these. I
am a fanatic on corian, but I only thread them for Beads of courage, Thanks a bunch, Max.

The app.size is 3" wide x 4" tall on most the little bowls are a little smaller.
Used 1/2" material glued together with medium ca glue.

Have ya figured out a way to control the static "cling" for all the shavings? I've not turned Corian, but have sawn it several times. Though I never would get it dust cleaned up.
Great work on he bowls.

No problem, Don. I love turning Corian (and similar materials), but I prefer to mix it in with other materials... it's cheap in small quantities (free, if you like countertop-sized cutouts), so you can play to your heart's content and not worry about it cutting into the retirement check.
