Now I know why I gave those folks over at Amazon .com all that money.
Haveing 3 hp and a 1000 lbs comes in real handy for doing this.
Plus I like the fact that if I need help all I have to do is call Nashville Tn.
that where Powermatic is located.

Total time invested in this bowl about 12 hours.

Finish will take about a week. My wife will take care of that part--all done by hand--sanded between coats----coat after coat until it looks like it's been dipped in glass. That's what sales my bowls ---people will walk over each other to see that finish. There is no short cut or fast way to do it that looks the same either.
I have tried them all from natural to buffed and hand waxed---And I still carry some stuff in a natural waxed finish. But 9 out of ten people want that shine.

So, Gary, what exactly are you using for the finish?

We are talking about Cedar----I want UV protection and something that will stick.
The natural oil in Cedar is very fussy---most stuff on the market will peal off in a couple months.
We are using a marine grade Polly.
