I have a Stanley 42 "Pistol Grip" saw set. The instructions indicate it's good for up to 14 teeth per inch, however "special Plungers" can be furnished for more than 14 teeth per inch. Two of my saws have finer teeth than the Stanley 42 can work on with its existing plunger. Is it possible to get this additional plunger? If not, what should I do to maintain the saws with finer teeth?

There are a few different flavors of the Stanley 42 saw set.

The 42x is the most sought after model.

My solution was to have two so the plunger on one could be shaped for smaller teeth.

I have also heard of gluing a sliver of veneer on the plunger to accommodate smaller teeth.

Makes sense to look for another to modify. Thanks
