That's really nice Charles! My Mom and Wife would flip over that, they are Hummingbird Fanatics! Could you share some details of the construction, such as Wood Species used and the process for coloring/staining of the various features? Intarsia is fasctinating, and it is on the LONG list of things to try someday. VERY nice indeed, thanks so much for sharing it with us! :D

:) Hi kevin.
Well there are about 75-80 peices in the total picture.
The proces that I use is not standerd intarisa process, but I end up with the same results. First I trace all the parts of the plan, cut them out of the wood sugested [not always] follow the grain pattern very close, fit them together astight as I can ,glue them.
Now I start to shape what ever it is, I use a new dremal with a flex shaft. There is no stain they are all natural colors of the wood.
I did stain the bright red flower in this one though.
Let me see there bk.walnut, blood wood, yellow heart, green popular. and chest nut in this one, the frame is red oake.
A lot of time but I sure do enjoy.
