Not to be confused with "bench dogs", although there have been times I've been tempted to...never mind.
Here's mine, picture taken in his preferred spot: he doesn't photograph well in the shop because he blends in with the sawdust.

My shop dog is a Pure Bred siberian husky. He too blends in with the sawdust!!

He is out in the shop with me every time I am out there. Normally he wanders out into the driveway and sleeps in the shade.

Here is a pick of him sleeping in the house:

And just to prove he is a shop dog, here he is behind the table saw pic:

My shop dog is getting old and I don't know how much longer he will be with me. Every moring I go and check if we have another day.

This is Peanut. She is a 10-year-old beagle/lab/chow mix (and who know's what else). Her favorite thing is to do is lay in fresh pile of shavings. By the way, that is a rubber snake in the picture, not a real one.

Mark - Do you have them in different colour collars so you can tell them apart?

Not much of a shop dog. China is a Australian Shepherd-Chow mix saved from death row at the pound. She's not adverse to powertool noise or sawdust and she gets credit for being fairly patient while her dad messes around, but eventually does the sad-sack face until I give in and take her out to the yard for a short play break. Her main WW chore is to let me know when UPS is here with a new gloat - works much better than the doorbell.

I've included pictures of my shop dog Tissy (Tisket a Tasket) (as well as my shop daughter, Sarah). She is a six year old Shih Tzu and is a real sweetheart when she isn't begging food or terrified of a thunder storm (or my finish nailer).

I was installing baseboard (in the never ending bathroom remodel from heck) and she came and climbed in my lap when I started using the finish nailer. I had to make her leave so that I could finish.

Biscuit is a 3 year old mutt. We adopted him when he and my daughter were both 6 months old and they are best buddies. However, he will sometimes come out to the shop with me if she isn't home or is sleeping.

No shop pics, but I submit Dakota, the clown in a dog outfit:

Helping me recuperate from a broken back (in my old house):

And Sasha, the Wonderdog and gopher huntress:

And finally, one of me and the kids:

(I'm the funny-looking one in the middle.) Both dogs are adoptees, and we wouldn't trade them for the world.

LOL.....thats a great photo. I am partial to the canine varity myself...but certain cats have a "freindly" personality... :D

Here's my faithful companion, Sam although he (like Beau) does not like the sound of the motor, saws, sanders, etc.

I'm not sure how this will turn out (size wise)....but this is my A.K.C. Lab "Honey-Behr" she spends most of her time in my shop retrieving chunks of wood.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v229/GardenBay/9242GBLAB.jpg

I was going to post a picture of my old table saw but I must have deleted it!

Not full time shop dogs, but they do like to steal cutoffs. Harley is the german shepard, and Brandy is the austrailian shepard. She's full grown now, at least 50% larger that in this picture. Unfortunately, at less than 2 y.o. Brandy has developed epilepsy, and were having a real hard time finding the right meds to control the siezures. We may never.
Both are well trained and have earnd their K9 Good Citizen cert.

Ok, it's my turn. None of mine are actually shop dogs, although Cory has been in my shop to be with me once. I would be dead meat if I let these guys get saw dust in these coats. DAMHIKT The first picture is Dalton (aka CH Coolmeadow Northern Spy CD). He's MY boy. Picture 2 is of his littermate, Cory (aka CH Coolmeadow Cortland CD). Picture 3 is Cory's only offspring, Taz (aka Coolmeadow Twist And Shout NAP NAJ OJP) and the newest addition, although this is the first picture of her we took back in Feb, Tainey (aka Tainaron's Tango at Coolmeadow) As a side note, Dalton runs and hides anytime I pick up a tool of any type, as tools make noise, and noise is bad. This is a fun thread. Lots of great looking dogs (and cat) out there. Jerry, is Sam the rescue dog you got after you lost Beau? He's a beauty! Jim.

This is Duncan (Ancient Norse ~ "Brown warrior"). She's a long haired German Shepherd. She enjoys playing ball, running, eating wood, and shedding.

Great dogs and cats everyone. I really love animals and think people that love their pets are better people because of it. Really good to see all the shop animals, thanks for sharing.

Since my GSD wouldn't leave the shop when I was using power tools, I trained her to immediately go to the wall and lay down whenever anything is turned on. Much safer since she has a tendency to sneak up behind me and lay down by my feet, despite the 2hp router screaming along with the dust collector.

This is her trying to recover from a ball throwing session...

Here is ours. She is a shih-szu (Muffy) but we think there is a little pekinese in her. She loves to lay in saw dust and chew on a piece of scap wood, prefers raw pine. She does not mind the saws but does not like the router. (No ear muffs for her) She also guards the backyard of birds and squirrels from her perch on the couch.
