I can't even bring myself to ask. "How'd you do that?"
Awesome.

Larry, that is outstanding. Can I ask how you apply the leafs. Are they inlaid, or glued t0o the surface? Thanks

Do you turn it with the leaves in place? Seems like those would cause a bump when turning past them ... if not ripping them right out. Maybe you inlay them afterwards. It's an amazing piece either way.

I turned and applied a shellac finish prior to doing the inlay to prevent glue bleed.
I made a saddle to hold the turning and used a router base attachment for my dremel tool.
I started the leaf recess just under 1/8" deep with a 1/16" down cut spiral bit and then switched to a 1/32" bit to shape the leaf and add the stem.
the inlay is powdered metal poured into the recess and set it with thin CA. I filed the excess metal away.

Beautiful selection of woods to "paint" your scene. Can we expect a video on your web site? Cheers

Larry,
Those are spectacular. Also congratulations on the WOW cover as well. It was well deserved.

Very nice, one of the most imaginative pieces I have seen.
