To all the poplar experts:
I've followed previous threads pertaining to how one can pre-conditionin and stain raw poplar to alleviate the blotchy and unwanted color streaking. Saw only attempts to use dark stain. I really like the tone of natural poplar and want to keep the grain prominent. Has anyone out there attempted to whitewash poplar?
If so, what, if any treatment would be recommended to the bare wood before the whitewashing technique would be applied?
