I was using my Makita 9820 sharpener on a slick yesterday and it quit, like right now. Load was a bit heavy as the tool is large. I bought this used so no manual, so if you are aware of a fuse in yours let me know.
Thanks, Larry

I don't think it has a fuse but it does have 2 other things that commonly go out: a switch and a capacitor.
Try bypassing the switch. If it works with the switch bypassed you know it's the switch. The capacitor can be removed and tested with a multi-meter or a motor shop will do it. Sometimes if a capacitor is going out a motor will start if you turn it on and spin by hand, so check that. The stone is kind of a heavy load for a little motor to start.

Thanks Loren.
I did the spin it thing, no go. Love the grinder except for that under powered motor. Can't throw it away I have six stones.
I'll jump the switch when I get time and see if that is it.
