Came upon a new challenge...

Spice Jars.

I can make them look great empty. Put the spice in them and the words disappear. Any suggestions?

Why does it disappear, because the etch looks too much like the spice (like salt)? If so, you'll need to color fill. For some color of spices, it may look better to reverse etch... engrave everything but the lettering. What about etching the lid (top or sides) instead of the bottle? How about a sticker that you etch through to let the spice show?

Give us some more details. You don't say what they are ... glass? plastic? Engraved on front?

Just throwing out a wild guess ... Rub-n-buff the engraving.

They are glass. I am going to try Dan's suggestion and see what happens, I will post pics. This is a Christmas gift idea that has taken on a life of its own.
