Help on a plane ID

Purchased another plane on-line again.
This one not for the make but the unusual look it has. For some reason it caught my eye, there is no maker inscription on it.
There is however, on the adjuster frame (I think that is what is called) there is a US Patten number. Dont have it in my possession yet, cannot provide that number yet.
Any ideas on it.

I have seen this design, but do not know the maker.

When you can read the patent number it shouldn't be too difficult to find the maker or at least to whom the patent was assigned.

Shelton. Might be either a #04 or an 03 size
