Latest project is a solid mahogany music stand with satinwood inlay, holly stringing, holly and ebony banding and ebony accents. The tablet is solid mahogany with a crotch mahogany veneer. The banding pays homage to Beethoven by representing the first two measures of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in its repeating ebony and holly pattern.

A veritable symphony of form, fit and function. Very nicely done.

Yes Ted, you can see in photo 3 that the height is adjustable - another ebony turn knob. Impressive!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. This was a fun project to do as it was 90% or more with hand tools... All of the inlay, stringing and so on as well as the shaping of the column. It just came home from Rhode Island where it was in the Fine Furnishings Show in Pawtucket where I was thrilled it received a Best in Show award for the category "traditional work, student".
Cheers,
Roger
