Does anyone know of any lumber yard in Chicago that has them? I plan on building something like Festool's MFT/3 table, but I'll need something bigger than that.

Here you can get it at Lowes or Home Depot. Is that not the case in Chicago?

Agreed. Every HD and Lowes I've been to around the country has 3/4 and 1/2 mdf. Are you looking for 1" or something special?

Thanks Dave! It's exactly what I was looking for. As for HD and Lowes, they only have them in 2'x4', which is too small.

Wow, that's different than my experience. The do have a few of the 2X4 pieces, but mostly they are 49"X97". The extra inch is for edge damage I guess.

my first bet would be menards. they seem to have a fairly strong supply of plywood.

The big box stores have larger sheets of mdf but it is of a much lower quality then you will find other places. The best quality mdf is Plum creek go to Aetna plywood and you will find all the sizes that you need. Hope this helps.
