Hey guys I am going to make a gate to wrap around my gas fire place. Nothing fancy just need it to keep my two young kids from getting burned. I'm guessing the rails top and bottom will be about one to two inch square I have to see when I make not too clunky. The spindles wil be round dowels as small as I can and still be rigid 1/4 maybe 3/8 dowels. I'm looking for ideas on fastening it to the drywall that will be secure but pretty quick and easy to remove. Thx for any ideas

Velcro strips or pads? Easy on. Easy off.
Keep the spindles close so the kiddies won't try to stick their heads in between 'em.

Be careful using wood, not to get it too close. The heat can build up over long exposre to the point where the wood and or finish can start to burn. There are a variety of snap catches and latches that would work without being ugly.
