Found a used Woodmaster 2675 on craigslist, but owner says it sounds like one of the bearings is bad. Should I stay away from this sander? Price is $600, but it is 4 hours away. Thanks.

All bearings go bad. If condition is good, bearings will cost 100. Not a big deal. Don't buy crap bearings though. Dave

Nope

Check it out and see if it has any other faults. Bearings are easy to replace, easy to source, but sometimes difficult to get at.

Sometimes belt slip can be mistaken for a noisy bearing, here's a genuine bearing screech:

Sounds like an adventure. Price is right for the sander, and it might be a interesting trip. I went about that far to get an atv for my grandkids.

You'll find what you need at The Big Bearing Store (http://www.thebigbearingstore.com/)...

I'm pretty sure that Woodmaster uses heavy cast iron pillow block bearings for the drum. It should be fairly easy to swap them out if need be.

Thanks everybody, got the sander back home, its actually the Woodmaster 2600 with the feed rollers. Machine is in great shape, faster than my grizzly 2hp double drum I've been using. Appreciate all the feedback!
