mechanical pencil kit

I am looking for a retractable 0.5 mechanical pencil kit. All the ones that I have seen in kits do not retract the barrel that holds the lead. If anyone has a sources please let me know.

I have seen some folks use the Pentel pencil and replace the plastic tube with wood.

Nick Cook's website has instructions for making a pencil using the Pentel mechanism. I'm not sure if they offer a retractable tip or not.
