Guitar question

The network guy in our office has an older VMI Cruise guitar.

He got it 17+ year ago.

The bridge has disintegrated.

Any body have a good solution, fix, parts link, etc.

I'm sure John or George will have an idea, I've never heard of the guitar, but if I thought someone might make a new bridge for it, I'd call Stewar Macdonald (after looking up the # on google) or google VMI Cruise bridge and see if anything pops up.

I don't know that particular guitar, but Stew-Mac is the place to start. That bridge looks like pot metal. I'd look for a brass version. The question I would ask is the guitar worth the cost of a new bridge.

Personally, I would have to see the guitar and make a recommendation. Old, neglected guitars often have multiple problems and it can turn into a money pit very quickly. Before you know it, you're $300 into it and it STILL has major problems. You should have someone that really knows what they're doing have a look at it and evaluate it's condition before doing anything. That's just my recommendation.

If yours died it may die later too, it does look like potmetal

You could buy a new tremolo, which may or may not involve modification to install the wammy bar

I took a quick look on the web about Cruise VMI. It seems to be a beginner guitar. My grandmother taught me that if I couldn't say anything nice then not to say anything at all...

At a minimum, before spending a dime on it make sure that the truss rod works. I see an alarming number of older, cheap guitars whose necks are either hopelessly back bowed or with truss rods that don't work properly or are broken.
