I met a guy who is selling his shop tools. He is offering me a Powermatic Model 26 shaper for $650 and a model 141 band saw for $450. The shaper has a reverse switch and a BOATLOAD of cutters. The band saw has about 8 extra NOS blades and the original fence. Are these reasonable prices. Oh, these are the gold machines. Thanks!!

I owned both machines. The PM 141 band saw is a fantastic machine. Much better than the Delta of the same time frame or any newer Chinese saw. I bought my PM 141 new for $1200 in 1990 and I sold it a few years ago for $1000. I believe if in good shape it would sell for $750-1000 on ebay. Great buy. I also bought a new PM 26 shaper in 1990. decent machine, better than the chinese stuff, but not outstanding. The PM27 is much better. But $650 is a great price. Sold my PM26 for around $1000.

Sounds like a really good deal to me. I'm not sure what a "boatload of cutters" amounts to but some of those can get very expensive.

Both machines are reliable. PM saws are great. It's a good deal. $450 for used 14" saw with extra blades means "future tool gloat".
