I lost my grubscrew (first world problems) and my Nova G3-D chuck is not anchored to its insert. I don't want to buy 50 and pay shipping. Where in the world does one buy one M6X6 grubscrew plus a $.46 stamp?

Alas, I might as well buy 50 and then if any of my friends loses his and / or her M6X6 grubscrew, I can say, "I have one you can have for under a nickel." Plus a $.46 stamp of course, so for under $.51.

Crisis averted! Little Machine Shop sells them individually.

Generally worthwhile to have a spare set of jaw screws too.

That's a great idea, Thom.

If a "grub screw" is the same as a "set screw"......there is a good chance good local hardware stores will have them in stock.

According to absolutely infallible sources (i.e. the internet) grub screw is what a set screw is called in England.

You might try a Fastenal if there is one in your area. Also McMaster Carr probably has them.

You should hear what the Cajuns call them. Be careful buying screws just anywhere due to grade or lack of. My chuck jaw screws always come loose first cold weather??

Fasteners are the reason I still patronize my local Ace Hardware. In addition to a good selection of quality fasteners, including grub screws, ad a good price, they often have a helpful hardware man (or woman) close at hand.

I agree that you should be able to get one at any real hardware store.

I thought the Nova G3-D was direct threaded and did not have an insert?

Michael, I can't answer your question. Mine has the adapter but I may have the Nova G3 instead of the G3-D.
