Has anyone had the chance to engrave a piece of Glass Mica Ceramic?

Glass-mica ceramic is a white, odorless material composed of approximately 55% fluorophlogopite mica and 45% borosilicate glass.
Hmmm, never heard of it until now. Both mica and BS glass can be engraved/cut with a CO2 laser, so I see no reason why you couldn't do the same here. If it's white, though, don't expect much contrast.

I've only heard of it as my parents had a "Parkray" fire in the living room when I was a Child, it was in strips in front of the coal burning section :)

Kern ran a test piece of Macor for us before we bought our machine. I'm guessing it's similar to glass-mica ceramic. It engraved to a uniform depth (maybe ~0.03"?), but with no discoloration or change in surface appearance that I recall. If you ran slow you might be able to melt it and change the appearance. If you're interested, I can take a picture of it when I'm back at the lab tomorrow and post it.

Alright guys I did it the fiber laser and this is what I get. I did two passes with the fiber. I kept the same power but I slowed it down on both passes.
