I just wanted to share a recent project with you. Cherry floating shelves.
I used 3/4" Cherry for the faces and sides and 1/2" MDF core Cherry ply. I intended to use VC ply but the Cherry veneer didn't look to great.
The inner structure is made of milled 2x4s. Final dimensions 2"x1". I used dominos to join them to the inside of the Cherry faces and also to the 2"x1" mounting cleat.
Stain is GF Gel Stain Brown Mahogany with several coats of GF Semi-Gloss Arm-R-Seal applied with a foam brush.
