I have an opportunity to get a used Delta DC-380 15" planer. It looks like it is in good condition, except for one thing: the outfeed rubber roller is rotted and needs to be replaced. The owner has the replacement roller, so all I need to do is install it.
How difficult is it to do? Anything I need to be aware of during reassembly?
They want $400 for it. Good deal?

I think the 380 is pretty similar to the jet I have except the table moves up and down instead of the cutter head like the delta, and is similar to most if the 15" planers from that era (a good thing!).
The rollers aren't hard if you're somewhat mechanically inclined. I believe you can remove it by removing the springs from each side and going from there. Download a manual to see the exploded diagram for details.
$400 is a good deal!

At $400, I don't understand why the 380 isn't in your shop already.

Especially since it comes with a new rubber roller! Those are expensive. I've thought about installing a rubber roller on my Jet, but the roller was a bit to pricey to pull the trigger.
