I have a friend who has asthma and various allergies and an evaporative cooler that needs replacing. What's the best type of pad for the new cooler? Should we get a cooler that uses the thick MasterCool type of pad? - or should we get the garden variety of cooler and use the blue synthetic pads?
I myself prefer the natural wood fiber type of pad, but I put a filter downstream of the cooler. I just assume tha wood fiber pads would be bad for someone with allergies since they get black with mold by the end of the season.
