Edge lit LED question

I am trying to create a 1/8" thick clear acrylic part with a logo in 3 colors. The part will be edge lit with LED's. I can light it in white, but how do I achieve multiple colors. I don't think that multiple colored lights is an option.
The logo needs to be lit. The part is fairly small, only 4" x 1". Any thoughts?

Never tried it, but perhaps you can use a translucent fill paint in the various colors needed to paint the engraved areas. The scattered light should then take on the tint of the fill, albeit somewhat dimmed compared with unfilled areas.

Make 3 pieces. Put every shape by colour in each piece. 3 layers in CD.
